Volleyball Recap: Oak Grove Classical Academy Gets the Win

Oak Grove Classical Academy lost to McCurdy back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Owls walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bobcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Owls.

The win didn't come easy: McCurdy scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19.

Lexee Schroeder was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Sorenson, who had 23 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Oak Grove Classical Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive contests.

Oak Grove Classical Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for McCurdy, their loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Oak Grove Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Santa Rosa on the 25th. As for McCurdy, they will head out on the road to challenge Sandia Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
