Football Recap: Cactus Shadows Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Cactus Shadows kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 27-19 to the Desert Edge Scorpions. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Scorpions: they've now lost three in a row.

Blake Roskopf was a one-man wrecking crew For Desert Edge. as he threw for 365 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. That's the most passing yards Roskopf has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Honeywood, who picked up 133 receiving yards and one score.

Coming up, Cactus Shadows will square off against ALA - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Desert Edge, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cienega at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
