Baseball Recap: Eastlake Picks Up 12th Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastlake walked away with it. They skirted past the Point Loma Pointers 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Eastlake got a great performance from Max Tello as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Tello has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hamza Hatahet, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. JP Conero also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Eastlake's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Point Loma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-10-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Eastlake will face off against San Marcos at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Point Loma, they will take on Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pointers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
