Recap: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Poway Titans
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Del Norte Nighthawks walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 victory over the Titans on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for Del Norte as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Bailey Barnhard, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 19 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samaya Sankuratri, who scored seven points.
Del Norte's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Poway, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-9.
Del Norte will take on Mission Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mission Hills will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Del Norte surely won't give up without a fight. Poway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
