Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Knights vs. York County Tech Spartans

Having just played yesterday, the Fairfield Knights will get right back to it and host the York County Tech Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses dating back to last season for Fairfield and 11 for York County Tech.

Fairfield is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Shalom Christian Academy on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fairfield came up short against Shalom Christian Academy, falling 48-22. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, York County Tech ended up a good deal behind Biglerville on Wednesday and lost 40-26.

Fairfield will have to contain Faith Atwater as she made an impact in York County Tech's last game. She dropped a double-double on 11 points and 20 boards.

Even though they lost, York County Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

York County Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Fairfield's way against York County Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Fairfield made off with a 52-29 victory. Does Fairfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will York County Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
