St. Thomas Aquinas extended their winning streak  to eight  on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. They came out on top against the American Heritage Patriots by a score of  19-12. Those 19 points were actually the fewest the Raiders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Virgil Lemons and  Isaiah Calixte. Lemons rushed for 106 yards on only 13 carries while  Calixte rushed for 46 yards.
 St. Thomas Aquinas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as  Jaden Carey,  Jemiyah Douglas,  and  Andre Jones picked up one apiece. Carey has been hot recently, having also posted five or more  total tackles the last three times he's  played. Another thorn in American Heritage's side was  Wyatt Smith, who picked up  three  sacks, forced one fumble,  and made 18 total tackles.
 Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 13 in total. All came from  Johnny DiSalvatore: he went 4-for-4 kicking field goals for 12 points and added another on an extra point kick.
As for American Heritage,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-5. They gained 54 more yards on the day, but it was St. Thomas Aquinas that made the best use of them.
 When it comes to explaining why American Heritage lost, don't look at  Jamar Denson. Despite the final result, he picked up 78 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs. The Patriots also got help from  Jeffar Jean-Noel, who showed off his sure hands for 105  receiving yards.
 Coming up, St. Thomas Aquinas will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaminade-Madonna  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 11.6  points per game  this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. American Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
