Baseball Recap: Ridgeland Takes a Loss

Ridgeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 13-0 to the Gilmer Bobcats. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Ridgeland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dallas Bilbrey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Bilbrey has snagged this season.

Ridgeland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Gilmer, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-14.

While Ridgeland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
