Softball Recap: Woodland Wins Going Away Against Eagle's Landing

Woodland won against McDonough on Tuesday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Wolfpack put the hurt on the Eagle's Landing Eagles with a sharp 18-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolfpack, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Aliyah Allen and Peyton Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Allen went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Johnson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Allen a new career-high. Adyn Brittian was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Woodland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Woodland now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Eagle's Landing, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-10.

Coming up, Woodland will be playing in front of their home fans against Stockbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.17 runs per game on average), something the Wolfpack will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eagle's Landing, they will square off against McDonough at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
