Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Miramonte Matadors

The Northgate Broncos will square off against the Miramonte Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Northgate strolled past Campolindo with points to spare, taking the game 46-31. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Northgate found their leader in sophomore Maddison Sardelich, who posted seven points and 21 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Sardelich a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Jada Mayse, who put up six points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miramonte). They claimed a resounding 65-33 victory over Ygnacio Valley. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.

Miramonte has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Northgate, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5.

Northgate came out on top in a nail-biter against Miramonte in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 39-37. Does Northgate have another victory up their sleeve, or will Miramonte turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
