Sacred Heart Prep and Terra Nova are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Gators will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sacred Heart Prep 2.2, Terra Nova 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sacred Heart Prep is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Palo Alto just ended the team's 12-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Gators have suffered since May 16, 2025.
JP Durrett made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Nico Pollioni was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Terra Nova got themselves on the board against More on Monday, but More never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-0 win.
Trevor Snead was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden James, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Joey Donati, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Terra Nova always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Terra Nova has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sacred Heart Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.
Sacred Heart Prep couldn't quite get it done against Terra Nova in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 as they fell 5-2. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
