Yuba City comes up short despite Josie Carrick's dominant performance

Recap: Yuba City Honkers vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves

It was a good run, but the Yuba City Honkers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 62-46 fall against Woodcreek. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Yuba City in their matchups with Woodcreek: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Yuba City still got an impressive performance from Josie Carrick, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carrick has scored all season. Kirpa Bains was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Woodcreek was led to victory by Emma Fisilau and Ryan Nair. Fisilau scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Nair almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that Fisilau scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Lomax, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Yuba City's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Woodcreek, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yuba City will face off against Antelope at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Antelope has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 697 points over their last ten games. As for Woodcreek, they will head out on the road to square off against Alameda at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
