Basketball Game Preview: Escondido Charter Tigers vs. Mount Si Wildcats

The Escondido Charter Tigers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Mount Si Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Escondido Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Escondido Charter saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 57-48 to Corona del Mar. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Escondido Charter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kami Gillis, who posted 15 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Gillis has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Harper Mowrey, who had nine points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mount Si suffered their closest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Shadow Hills by a score of 49-46.

Mount Si has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Escondido Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
