Recap: Central Dragons vs. Clearfield Bison
If the Central Dragons were riding high off their 70-49 takedown of the Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Central fell 65-54 to the Bison on Monday. Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Sonny Diehl was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 20 rebounds for Clearfield. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Diehl has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Helsel, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Central now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Clearfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will challenge the Hilltoppers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westmont Hilltop will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Clearfield, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
