Softball Recap: Mercy's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Mercy came out on top against Cass on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Monarchs walked away with an 11-6 win over the Wildcats. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Monarchs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cloe King was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Addison Feldhaus also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mercy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mercy's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Cass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Mercy and Cass will both be playing Plattsmouth the next time they take the field. The Monarchs will head out to face the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
