Basketball Game Preview: St. Anthony Saints vs. Saint Joseph Jesters

The St. Anthony Saints will venture away from home to take on the Saint Joseph Jesters at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, St. Anthony didn't have too much trouble with St. Monica as they won 66-52. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Saints' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Mariners are ranked 269th).

St. Anthony relied on the efforts of Jordyn Washington, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards, and Dallyn Knox, who posted 25 points and eight rebounds. Those 25 points gave Knox a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayaka Yiu, who had eight points and five assists.

Saint Joseph hadn't beaten St. Monica on the road since January 24, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Jesters came out on top against the Mariners by a score of 54-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jesters.

St. Anthony's record now sits at 17-9. As for Saint Joseph, their record is now 19-5.

St. Anthony came up short against Saint Joseph in their previous meeting on January 13th, falling 74-62. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
