North East skates past Titusville with ease

Recap: North East Grape Pickers vs. Titusville Rockets

The North East Grape Pickers waltzed into their game Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They breezed by Titusville on the road to the tune of 52-19. Given North East's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Titusville is ranked 626th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alexandra Cozzens continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gigi Gaston, who scored six points along with six steals and five rebounds.

North East pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Titusville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

North East will be playing at home against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seneca and North East are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Titusville, they will head out on the road to face off against Mercyhurst Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
