Softball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 24 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-8. They came up short against the Mountain View Mountain Lions, falling 17-2. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 19-3 to the Mountain Lions when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mountain View's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-15-1. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.

For Mountain View's part, Emerson Lamar was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Lamar has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Anderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Skyline will head out to face off against Thornton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mountain View, they will face off against Wellington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
