Baseball Recap: Stow-Munroe Falls Comes Up Short

Stow-Munroe Falls was the 4-3 winner over Hoover when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stow-Munroe Falls handed starting duties to Player #3/28, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit.

At the plate, Jacob Garcia made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those triples marked the first that he has hit this season. Gino Petrey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Stow-Munroe Falls' record is now 10-13. As for Hoover, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stow-Munroe Falls will face off against Louisville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hoover, they will challenge Alliance at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
