Basketball Recap: Ligonier Valley Comes Up Short

Ligonier Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 39-24 fall against the Deer Lakes Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while the Lancers are ranked 214th).

Despite the loss, Ligonier Valley still got an impressive performance from Adleigh Myers, who posted nine points. What's more, Myers also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Ligonier Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Deer Lakes, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Ligonier Valley will be playing at home against East Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Ligonier Valley is facing East Allegheny at the right time seeing as East Allegheny is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Deer Lakes has already played their next matchup, a 54-26 defeat against Shady Side Academy on the 6th.
