Basketball Recap: Williams Comes Up Short

Williams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Maxwell Panthers, falling 49-14. The Yellowjackets were down 33-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Williams' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lupita Zuniga, who posted eight points, and Giselle Torres Salazar, who had five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maxwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joceline Montero, who earned nine points. Fernanda Hernandez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Williams' loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Maxwell, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williams has already played their next matchup (against Hamilton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Maxwell has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Quincy.
