Football Recap: Fillmore Central Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Raymond Central, Fillmore Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Fairbury Jeffs by a score of 21-12. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Jeffs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Preston Komenda looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 229 yards and one TD on only 18 passes, while also rushing for 37 yards and one touchdown. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024.

The win got Fillmore Central back to even at 1-1. As for Fairbury, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Fillmore Central will square off against Palmyra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairbury, they will take on Wood River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
