Softball Recap: Southland Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Southland Academy extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 3-2. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Brookstone Cougars a 3-0 shutout. The Raiders were shut out 13-0 the last time they took on the Cougars, so the Raiders were just returning the favor.

As for Brookstone, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Brookstone's part, Addyson Marsolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Brookstone saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Carter Fort, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southland Academy will welcome Calvary Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brookstone, they will challenge Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
