Basketball Game Preview: South Iredell Vikings vs. Cox Mill Chargers

South Iredell is 0-8 against Cox Mill since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The South Iredell Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Cox Mill Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

South Iredell is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Lake Norman and fell 72-28. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Wildcats are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Cox Mill lost to Hickory Ridge at home by a 74-60 margin on Tuesday. The Chargers have struggled against the Ragin' Bulls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Cox Mill's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for South Iredell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

South Iredell was dealt a bruising 82-43 loss at the hands of Cox Mill when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cox Mill's James Carswell, who went 6 of 12 to rack up 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
