Baseball Recap: Scholars Guild Academy Wins Going Away Against Young Americans Christian

Scholars Guild Academy won against Skipstone Academy last Thursday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Everything went the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans' way against the Young Americans Christian Eagles as the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans made off with a 15-1 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Jacob Chupp was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Scholars Guild Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-6 otherwise. Chupp was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Will Pittman and Ty Newton did most of the damage at the plate: Pittman scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Newton scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Scholars Guild Academy is undefeated when Pittman posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-6 otherwise. Sebastian Kenny also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Scholars Guild Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Scholars Guild Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 12 hits in those games compared to only 3.8 in the others. As for Young Americans Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scholars Guild Academy will square off against Horizon Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Young Americans Christian, they will face off against Covington Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Young Americans Christian is facing Covington Academy at the right time seeing as Covington Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
