St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers an easy 4-0 win. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 518th, while the Trailblazers are ranked fourth).

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for Sierra Canyon, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0-1.

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will take on Calvary Chapel in a holiday battle at at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sierra Canyon, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chaminade at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
