Softball Recap: Malcolm Starts Season with Win Against Auburn

Malcolm gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Auburn Bulldogs by a score of 7-2. For the Clippers, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Aryanna Myers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Malcolm let Morgan Tiedeman and Grace Green run wild. Tiedeman went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Green went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madysen Wall, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Coming up, Auburn will head out on the road to square off against Aurora at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Malcolm will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' contest: after the Bulldogs face off against the Huskies, they'll take on Malcolm again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
