Basketball Recap: Prospect Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Prospect won the last time they faced Branham, and Sadie Slaughter did her part to make sure it happened again. The Prospect Panthers walked away with a 48-36 victory over the Branham Bruins on Thursday thanks in part to Slaughter, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Prospect's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Akeisha McDaid, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 rebounds. She has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times she's played.

Prospect is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Branham, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Prospect and Branham should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Prospect (ranked 195th) will meet Leland (ranked 804th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Branham will take on Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 285 places (240 vs. 525).
