Basketball Recap: Lucy Murillo Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Channel Islands

There's no place like home for Fillmore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Channel Islands Raiders by a score of 46-34 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Flashes in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fillmore to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucy Murillo, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Murillo has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hermelinda Ocegueda, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 rebounds.

Fillmore was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Fillmore's record is now 6-3. As for Channel Islands, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
