Softball Recap: Omaha Westside Wins High-Profile Game Against Elkhorn South

Omaha Westside faced Elkhorn South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Warriors never let the Storm get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 6-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Hannah Miller, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Elkhorn South off the board. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Omaha Westside's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cadence Bedenbaugh (Bee-Den-Bow), who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Omaha Westside has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Elkhorn South, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Omaha Westside is set to square off against their familiar foe Marian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elkhorn South will face off against rival Lincoln East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
