The Jim Ned Indians won against the Vernon Lions on Thursday with 36 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Jim Ned secured a 36-32 W over Vernon. That's two games straight that Jim Ned has won by exactly four points.

Jim Ned was led to victory by Dean Guffey and Brayden Shipman. Guffey rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while Shipman rushed for 241 yards and two touchdowns. Shipman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.

The victory was the third in a row for Jim Ned, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points per game. As for Vernon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Jim Ned will be playing at home against Iowa Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Iowa Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Jim Ned is ranked 202nd). As for Vernon, they will head out on the road to face off against Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowie is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
