Football Game Preview: Avon Grove Red Devils vs. Unionville Longhorns

For the first time this season, Avon Grove will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Unionville Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Avon Grove is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, Avon Grove took a blow against Coatesville, falling 45-13. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 12th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Unionville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Oxford with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-33. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Avon Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Unionville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Avon Grove couldn't quite get it done against Unionville when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 20-7. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
