Softball Recap: Hiram Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hiram came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Allatoona Buccaneers, falling 6-0. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buccaneers earlier this season, when they won 11-7.

Hiram saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Morgan, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Marlee Greathouse also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Hiram's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Allatoona, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hiram will venture away from home to take on Dalton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Catamounts have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.93 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Allatoona, they are taking a road trip to face off against Southeast Whitfield County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Raiders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
