Softball Recap: Afton Comes Up Short

Afton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to the Wyandotte Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Afton's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Wyandotte, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Afton will venture away from home to take on Welch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.4 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wyandotte, they will head out to face off against Quapaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
