Basketball Recap: Burrell Comes Up Short

If Burrell was riding high fresh off their 50-18 takedown of Derry last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Burrell Bucs took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plum Mustangs on Friday. The Bucs were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in February of 2019.

Burrell's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Plum, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10.

Burrell and Plum could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Burrell will take on North Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 269 places (321 vs. 52). Meanwhile, Plum (ranked 390th) will meet Penn-Trafford (ranked tenth) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
