Softball Preview: Collins Hill Eagles vs. Hebron Christian Lions
The Collins Hill Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Hebron Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Collins Hill came up short against Parkview on Wednesday, falling 10-2. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Hebron Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Dawson County on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since September 14, 2024.
Kate Kennedy tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Juls Huber and Leah Jensen did most of the damage at the plate: Huber went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Jensen went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
