Softball Recap: Dewey Wins Going Away Against Sequoyah

Dewey got themselves on the board against Sequoyah on Tuesday, but Sequoyah never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The Bulldoggers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Kyla Overton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

In other batting news, Macie Dugger was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Londyn Bond was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Dewey and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Sequoyah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Dewey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Oologah on the 21st. As for Sequoyah, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-5 victory against Rejoice Christian on the 21st.
