Soccer Game Preview: Olympian vs. Bonita Vista

The Olympian Eagles will head out to square off against the Bonita Vista Barons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olympian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Olympian's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mater Dei Catholic 1-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bonita Vista's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Eastlake by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Barons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Titans are ranked 35th).

Bonita Vista's goal came courtesy of Ava Galvan, who's now up to four this season.
