There's no place like home for San Marcos, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mt. Carmel Sundevils by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Sundevils are ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

San Marcos hit Mt. Carmel with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ava Gaida, Emily Soriano, and Lily Sigismondo.

San Marcos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Mt. Carmel dropped their record down to 10-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

San Marcos wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 2-2 draw against Cathedral Catholic on the 18th. Mt. Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
