Softball Recap: Millard South Wins Going Away Against Marian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millard West, Millard South was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Marian Crusaders with a sharp 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Makenzi McCoy was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cindy Xiong, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Millard South hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 12-3 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Millard South now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Marian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Millard South will challenge rival Omaha Westside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Marian is set to take on their familiar foe Papillion-LaVista at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
