Softball Recap: West Laurens Drops Season-High Score on Howard

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Laurens). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Howard Huskies a 20-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Raiders have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Laurens is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Howard, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, West Laurens will host Lowndes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Howard, they will head out to take on Warner Robins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
