Softball Recap: Prairie Victorious

While Prairie's victory against Fairfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Trojans on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since June 7th.

The win made it two in a row for Prairie and bumps their season record up to 10-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-13.

Prairie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 win against Solon on the 28th. As for Fairfield, they will be playing at home against Keokuk at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
