Softball Recap: Thomson Comes Up Short

Thomson extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 9-10. They came up short against the Evans Knights, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on September 2nd.

As for Evans, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-13 record. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Evans' part, the team relied heavily on Braedyn Quarles, who went 1-for-2 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave Quarles a new career-high. Serenity Campos was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Thomson will be playing at home against Academy of Richmond County at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday. The Musketeers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.92 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Evans, they will venture away from home to face off against South Effingham at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
