Basketball Game Preview: West Wolfpack vs. Lincoln Trojans

West is 0-10 against Lincoln since January of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The West Wolfpack will take on the Lincoln Trojans at 6:30 p.m. West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-34 victory over Livermore.

West found their leader in sophomore Kaliyah Byrd, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 boards. Those 24 points gave Byrd a new career-high. Karla Leon was another key player, putting up nine boards and three steals.

West was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln greeted the New Year with with a 64-45 win over Northgate. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for West, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-12.

West took a serious blow against Lincoln when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 66-21. Can West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
