Soccer Game Preview: Sierra vs. Avenal

The Sierra Chieftains will challenge the Avenal Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Tuesday, Sierra came up short against Tranquillity and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Avenal kept a clean sheet against Wonderful College Prep Academy on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Their offense was hitting Wonderful College Prep Academy from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Marely Solorio led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Avenal, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1.
