Sylmar had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Reseda Regents by a score of 56-48 on Wednesday. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Reseda saw an underclassman step up: freshman Marisela Rosales posted 18 points. Zahra Numa was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Sylmar's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Reseda, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Sylmar has already played their next game, a 58-40 victory against Panorama on the 17th. As for Reseda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-46 defeat against San Fernando on the 17th.
