Basketball Recap: Long Beach Poly Skates Past King/Drew with Ease

Long Beach Poly won against Lakewood on Friday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits claimed a resounding 56-18 win over the King/Drew Golden Eagles. The Jackrabbits have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Long Beach Poly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joy Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Helena Vu was another key player, putting up ten points and six assists.

Long Beach Poly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 43 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
