Soccer Game Preview: Brawley vs. Southwest EC

Brawley and Southwest EC are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Brawley Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Southwest EC Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Brawley is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Central just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. Neither they nor the Spartans could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result kept the Wildcats happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Southwest EC was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Imperial, falling 4-1. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Eagles it sure didn't stay that way.

Brawley's draw makes their record 14-5-2 this season. As for Southwest EC, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12-2.

Brawley skirted past Southwest EC 1-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brawley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
