Softball Recap: Hebron Christian Drops Season-High Score on Apalachee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hebron Christian). They put the hurt on the Apalachee Wildcats with a sharp 18-5 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Lions have won 17 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Lauren Kyranakis, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Jaycee Thornhill was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Hebron Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 16 consecutive matchups.

Hebron Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Apalachee, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Hebron Christian will square off against Ola at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.3, the Mustangs 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Apalachee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
