Baseball Recap: Valwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Community Christian Academy last Thursday, Valwood came back down to earth. The Valiants fell just short of the Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots by a score of 5-4 on Thursday.

Dywan Powell was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Maddox Coile, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Valwood's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-8 record.

Valwood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-0 defeat against Tattnall Square Academy on the 4th. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-5 loss against John Milledge Academy on the 4th.
