Softball Recap: Luther Extends Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Luther ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Meeker Bulldogs 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.

Alayna Wiles spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anna Tytenicz, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Luther's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Meeker, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Luther will head out on the road to challenge Edmond Santa Fe at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Meeker, they will host Shawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
